Create-A-Day: An Unfortunate Event
August 15, 2011 § 2 Comments
The weather has been quite stormy the past few days, so naturally alec and I wanted to go take pictures while the sky was exciting. We live by the Anacostia River and even though it’s a bit of a walk, there’s a nice bridge where we wanted to take pictures. When we got close to the bridge, we saw a firetruck, an ambulance, and multiple police cars and emergency response vehicles. Naturally, given the proximity to Anacostia, we assumed someone had been stabbed or a dead body had floated up the river. Perhaps more upsetting, an oil spill had happened and the police were there to keep people out of the water (yeah right. the anacostia river is super polluted without the oil…) until the EPA could get there to evaluate the situation. I hate oil spills and human pollution. Our poor planet. Anyways, they let us go out to the bridge after we promised we wouldn’t go too far, so our photo outing was saved! See photos below!
