“Normal” Barbie

While I’m still on the fence as to whether or not playing with dolls is a detriment or a benefit for little girls, I do wholeheartedly hope that this guy’s fledgling design is successful. Getting rid of Barbies and Bratz (which are as disgusting as they are terrifying to me) in favor of a more reasonable and realistic body type and appearance in a doll would make a huge difference in the way that young girls perceive themselves, their bodies, and the expectations thrust upon them when they hit puberty (though it can successfully be argued that girls are being pushed into looking like they’ve reached puberty when they are in fact years from it). One more step in the right direction! Only a $20 donation. Please consider donating if you have the spare change.
